Oxford County Sheriff Christopher Wainwright Visits Stan & Ali on the WOXO Morning Show

Oxford County Sheriff Christopher Wainwright stopped by the WOXO Morning Show this week to chat with Stan & Ali about some important work happening across western Maine and to highlight the strong partnerships between local law enforcement and the community.

One of the key topics was the Maine Sheriffs’ Association Awards Dinner, that took place on April 9th at Sunday River Resort in Newry. The event celebrates the dedication, professionalism, and service of deputies and staff from sheriff’s offices across the state who go above and beyond to keep Maine communities safe.

During the conversation, Sheriff Wainwright also spoke about the continuing importance of Project Graduation programs across the region. These events provide graduating seniors with a safe, supervised, and substance-free way to celebrate one of the biggest milestones of their lives. Over the years, Project Graduation has helped prevent tragedies and ensured students make it home safely after their celebrations, something that has truly made a lasting difference for families throughout Oxford County and beyond. WOXO's annual Oxford County Project Graduation Radio-thon presented by Northeast Bank is coming up Thursday May 7th 6am-6pm live on 92.7 & 100.7 WOXO.

Stan & Ali thanked Sheriff Wainwright for stopping by the studio and for his ongoing commitment to supporting youth safety initiatives and strengthening community connections. As western Maine schools prepare for graduation season, the message is clear: programs like Project Graduation and the partnerships that support them continue to save lives and make a real impact right here at home.
