On Saturday, August 9th, 2025, the heart of Bethel, Maine, will come alive with the sights, sounds, and spirit of Molly Ockett Day, a cherished tradition celebrating the town’s history and community. As Main Street fills with artisan vendors, food trucks, and local performers, families and visitors will gather under the summer sun to honor the legacy of Molly Ockett, the respected Abenaki healer and storyteller for whom the festival is named. The day will kick off with the beloved parade at 10 a.m., featuring colorful floats, marching bands, and smiling kids on decorated bikes, followed by live music on the town common and games for all ages.

Throughout the afternoon, festivalgoers will enjoy a variety of attractions—from traditional crafts and historical reenactments to local food favorites like lobster rolls and fried dough. The children’s area will buzz with laughter from bounce houses, face painting, and puppet shows, while adults explore the craft fair or beer garden. As evening settles over the western Maine mountains, the community will gather once more for a free concert and fireworks display, bringing a perfect end to a day rooted in history, community pride, and small-town celebration.
